CHANDIGARH: Celebrations broke out at Shubman Gill's housing society in Mohali after Rishabh Pant scored the winning runs. They had reasons to feel happy.
However, Shubman's father Lakhwinder Gill, an ardent cricket fan, believes his son should have scored the century. "A century would have been good for his confidence. He was batting so well, and I don't know why all of a sudden, he played away from his body," he told TOI.

"The six innings he has batted in this Test series, he was always looking comfortable at the crease. But for me, the worrying sign is his mode of dismissals. He is chasing the ball way outside the off stump, and I am sure other teams would have noticed it. Hopefully, he will learn from it and will not repeat this mistake," he added.

The Gill family can't wait to meet Shubman after the gap of six months, and they are only counting days now.
"For the past six months, we have only seen him on TV or through video calls. He has been living in the bio-bubble for the past six months. We can't wait to meet him," he said.
