NEW DELHI: Virat Kohli displayed his batting prowess by scoring a crucial half-century in the second innings of the opening Test against Australia in Perth. His return to consistent scoring brought relief to cricket fans.
The most notable moment was when cameras captured Anushka Sharma, the Bollywood actress and wife of Kohli, showing her jubilant reactions whilst watching from the spectator area.
This was Anushka's first appearance at India's matches since the ODI World Cup 2023 held last November.
In 2024, Kohli has managed to score only his second Test half-century. Recent scrutiny over his performance had led to discussions about his position in the squad.
Earlier in the day, Kohli played a flashing cut shot off Mitchell Starc in the 101st over, sending the ball sailing over the boundary ropes for a six.
However, the powerful strike took an unexpected turn as the ball struck a steward on the side of his head, causing immediate concern.

He appeared visibly concerned as the play was halted. The Australian players, including Nathan Lyon, gathered around the steward to check on his condition, and the team’s physio rushed to conduct a concussion test.
