NEW DELHI: Teenage batsman Prithvi Shaw continued his stellar form and scored his fifth first-class century as Mumbai ended at 248/6 on the opening day of their fifth-round Ranji Trophy match against Andhra on Friday.

Shaw smashed a six and 14 fours in his 114 runs knock which came off 173 balls. Mumbai were in a spot of bother after losing three wickets for 64 runs in21.4 overs, before their opener Shaw and Siddhesh Lad added 125 runs for the fourth wicket. Lad scored a valuable 86 runs with the help of two sixes and nine fours.

For Andhra, Bandaru Ayyappa (3-87) took three wickets while Paidikalva Vijaykumar (2-55) grabbed two and KV Sasikanth (1-33) one.

18-year-old Shaw now has five centuries from seven first-class matches. Only Sachin Tendulkar, with seven centuries, had scored more tons as an 18-year-old in first-class cricket in India.

Shaw scored 56 in Mumbai's historic 500th Test against Baroda last week, after scoring back-to-back tons against Tamil Nadu and Odisha.
