BENGALURU: On a gloomy Sunday morning, with Karnataka eyeing three points from their Ranji Trophy Group 'A' encounter against Delhi, pacer Abhimanyu Mithun (5-70) provided the colour with an inspired bowling show that saw the Delhi batting line-up collapse within an hour.

On the final day of their fifth-round match at the KSCA Alur ground, the visitors, resuming on 274 for four, folded up for 301in 95 overs to hand Karnataka a 348-run first innings lead.

The hosts didn't enforce the follow-on as they decided to rest their bowlers on a flat deck and gave their batsmen some practice instead.

Karnataka ended their second innings on 235/3 in 63 overs with opener KL Rahul finding form with a breezy 109-ball 92, which included nine hits to the fence and two over it. The innings helped the opening batsman get some time in the middle ahead of India's Test series against Sri Lanka starting later this week. With no possibility of a result, stumps were drawn at 3.15pm, half an hour after tea.

With this draw, Karnataka remained on top of the table with 23 points and all but assured themselves of a berth in the quarterfinals with two matches to go. Delhi with 17 points, after one point from this match, continue to be placed second.
