Kenya, RCA keen to rope in Chandrakant Pandit

MUMBAI: Chandrakant Pandit, who was replaced as the Mumbai coach earlier this month, may soon head to Africa. TOI has learnt that the former India stumper has been approached by the

Kenyan Cricket Association

) for a two-year contract.

Pandit, who has coached Maharashtra, Rajasthan and Kerala in the past, said: “It's too early to comment.“ Meanwhile, the Rajasthan Cricket Association (RCA) is keen to appoint the 55-year-old as the director of their academy in Jaipur. Pandit has served as the RCA academy director for two years in 2011 and 2012 too. “We've seen his work earlier, and we were happy with his work.

“He's the best man in the country for the job. He was with us when we won the Ranji Trophy (in 2011-12 season).

“Our players still speak highly about him,“ said an RCA official.

Chhattisgarh poised to name Parmar as coach

Chhattisgarh State Cricket Sangh (CSCS) is set to name former Gujarat opener Mukund Parmar as the coach of its senior team. Parmar, who was a batting consultant at the National Cricket Academy (NCA), has coached Gujarat and Andhra in the past.
