CHENNAI: Tamil Nadu's B Indrajith has been ruled out of the Vijay Hazare Trophy as he is yet to recover from a right shoulder injury. The 25-year-old had undergone surgery in June and is currently under rehabilitation. All the other big names - including R Ashwin, M Vijay and Vijay Shankar - have been included in Tamil Nadu's list of 21 probables for the Vijay Hazare Trophy, which will commence in Jaipur later this month.
"My rehab will take at least another month or so. So I definitely cannot play the Vijay Hazare Trophy. I will know when I can make a possible return only when my rehab is complete," Indrajith informed.
Dinesh Karthik will lead the TN side, which will have a camp in Tiruppur from Monday. With the conditions in Jaipur expected to assist the pacers, the idea behind the 10-day camp is to have centre-wicket practice in seamer-friendly conditions. Pacer G Periyaswamy, who was the player of the tournament in the TNPL after helping Chepauk Super Gillies win the title, will be part of the TN camp as a net bowler. The 25-year-old has problems with his vision in his right eye but impressed onlookers with his slingy action.
