NEW DELHI: India all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja on Wednesday hit back at cricketer-turned-commentator Sanjay Manjrekar who had called him a 'bits and pieces' player.

Manjrekar had made the remark when asked about Jadeja's possible inclusion in the playing eleven after India's loss to England at the ICC World Cup on Sunday.

Reacting to Manjrekar's 'bits and pieces' remarks, Jadeja took to Twitter and said, "Still i have played twice the number of matches you have played and i m still playing. Learn to respect ppl who have achieved. i have heard enough of your verbal diarrhoea @sanjaymanjrekar."

"I am not a big fan of bits and pieces players which Jadeja is at this point of his career in 50-over cricket. In Test matches, he is a pure bowler. But in 50-over cricket, I would rather have a batsman and a spinner," Manjrekar had said, when asked about whether Jadeja can be played in place of Yuzvendra Chahal and Kuldeep Yadav who went for runs against England.

"You never actually base your judgements on exceptional results. India losing to England was an exceptional result. Spinners going for runs is exceptional and you have to understand that," he further said.
