NEW DELHI: Afghanistan leg spinner Rashid Khan had a terrible day in the office as he recorded the worst bowling figures in a World Cup match, conceding 110 runs in nine overs without taking a single wicket against England in Manchester on Tuesday.

Earlier the unwanted record belonged to New Zealand's Martin Snedden's 2/105 off 12 overs (60 overs per side) against England in the 1983 World Cup.

The 20-year-old's Rashid figures were also the joint second-worst in ODI history. Pakistan's left-arm Wahab Riaz leaked 110 runs in 10 overs against England in August 2016.

Australian pacer Mick Lewis registered the most expensive figures in the ODI history giving away 113 runs in 10 overs when South Africa famously chased down 434-run target in Johannesburg in 2006.

Rashid also became the first spinner to concede more than 100 runs in an ODI. Having never conceded more than two sixes in an innings, the 20-year-old conceded 11 of them against England.
