NEW DELHI: The India-Pakistan World Cup encounter always brings treats for the cricket lovers and star batter Virat Kohli leaves no stone unturned to add more spices to the game's biggest rivalry with his on-field antics.
The former India skipper Kohli was at his wittiest best when he appeared to be questioning Pakistan batter Mohammad Rizwan for taking extra much to get ready before facing the first delivery.
Kohli acted like he was watching the time on his wrist watch, even though he was not wearing one, to convey his message to the umpires about Rizwan taking time longer than necessary.
Earlier, Kohli had to make an early exit from the field as he wore a different jersey at the start of the contest. While the rest of the players sported tri-color stripes, India's official jersey for the ICC ODI World Cup 2023, on their shoulders, Virat's jersey had three white stripes.
Virat, after being pointed out, promptly switched to the correct team jersey, featuring the tri-colored stripes on the shoulders.
India skipper Rohit Sharma won the toss and asked Pakistan to bat at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad.
Opening batsman Shubman Gill returned to the team and replaced Ishan Kishan in the Playing XI. Gill missed out on India's first two matches due to dengue fever.
