NEW DELHI: Indian opener Shafali Verma was going all guns blazing before a stunner from
Sidra Ameen ended her quick-fire knock during India's opening match of the Women's T20 World Cup against Pakistan in Cape Town on Sunday.
The incident happened in the 10th over of the Indian innings when Shafali danced down the pitch and slammed it straight down the ground of
Nashra Sandhu where Ameen ran to her right from long-off and managed to maintain her balance to grab a spectacular take on the boundary line.
Chasing 150, Shafali gave India a flying start with her 33-run knock off 25 balls with the help of four boundaries.
Earlier after opting to bat, Pakistan captain Bismah Maroof and hard-hitting Ayesha Naseem shared a quick-scoring partnership to lift their team after a slow start to post 149 for four.
But Maroof (68 not out) and Naseem (43 not out) transformed the innings in an unbeaten partnership of 81 off 47 balls.
