NEW DELHI: New Zealand’s
Hayley Jensen pulled off a stunner to dismiss India’s
Smriti Mandhana during the opening match of the ICC Women’s World T20 match at the Providence Stadium in Guyana.
Mandhana played a pull shot off a short delivery by
Lea Tahuhu and it seemed the ball will go over the fence.
Jensen, who was fielding at the deep square leg boundary, timed her jump to perfection and took a blinder to send Mandhana packing for a paltry 2.
Mandhana, who survived a close LBW call in the previous over, looked stunned after her dismissal.
Earlier, India had won the toss and elected to bat against New Zealand.
India included four spinners and one medium pacer in the playing eleven.
