NEW DELHI: USA stand-in skipper Aaron Jones chose to field first after winning the toss in the Group 2 Super Eight match of the T20 World Cup against South Africa at North Sound in Antigua on Wednesday.

South Africa has had a flawless run in the tournament so far, securing four straight victories in Group D during the first round.

On the other hand, the USA advanced to the Super Eight stage as the second-placed team from Group A, following India. The American team notably defeated the formidable Pakistan side during their group stage campaign.

"We going to have a bowl first. It's going to be good wicket so we want the seamers to exploit first. Extra spinner for us today, Kenjige in," Jones said after winning the toss.

"Doesn't look too bad. We weren't really sure of what to do for the toss. Probably we were leaning towards bowling but don't mind batting first. Extra spinner today for us. Unfortunately Ottneil Baartman misses out purely on conditions, Keshav comes in," South Africa captain Aiden Markram said.

Teams:

South Africa: Quinton de Kock (wk), Reeza Hendricks, Aiden Markram (c), Heinrich Klaasen, David Miller, Tristan Stubbs, Marco Jansen, Keshav Maharaj, Kagiso Rabada, Anrich Nortje, Tabraiz Shamsi.

USA: Shayan Jahangir, Steven Taylor, Andries Gous (wk), Aaron Jones( c), Nitish Kumar, Corey Anderson, Harmeet Singh, Jasdeep Singh, Nosthush Kenjige, Ali Khan, Saurabh Netravalkar.
