NEW DELHI: Veteran Indian pacer Mohammed Shami suffered an injury scare during the crucial ICC Champions Trophy clash against Pakistan in Dubai on Sunday, walking off the field due to ankle pain.
Shami had an unsteady start, delivering five wides in his first over and conceding six runs. However, he quickly found his rhythm, giving away just four and three runs in his next two overs.

Following the over, he left the field, as confirmed by live visuals and commentators. Hardik Pandya stepped in to bowl the seventh over.
In a major relief for Indian fans, Shami returned to the field after experiencing minor ankle pain. The pacer returned to action in the 12th over of the innings, resuming his spell for the fourth over after being off the field since the fifth over.
Shami recently returned from an ankle injury that sidelined him for over a year, making his comeback in the white-ball series against England, where he played two T20Is and ODIs each.
He made his Champions Trophy debut against Bangladesh in Dubai, marking the occasion with a stunning five-wicket haul — his fifth fifer in ICC ODI events.
