NEW DELHI: Star Indian spinner Kuldeep Yadav on Sunday recorded his name in the history books as he became the fifth Indian spinner and 13th Indian bowler to claim 300 international wickets. The left-arm wrist spinner achieved this milestone during India's high-stakes ICC Champions Trophy clash against Pakistan in Dubai.

He didn't stop there as he dismissed Shaheen Afridi in the very next ball and later picked his third wicket in the form of Naseem Shah.
Kuldeep, known for his deceptive variations and sharp turn, returned figures of 3/40 as India bowled out Pakistan for 241.
His journey to 300 wickets, in 163 matches across formats, has been nothing short of remarkable, establishing him as one of India’s premier spinners across formats.
- Tests: 13 matches, 56 wickets
- ODIs: 110 matches, 177 wickets
- T20Is: 40 matches, 69 wickets
Having made his international debut in 2017, Kuldeep quickly rose through the ranks with his unorthodox left-arm wrist spin, a rarity in modern cricket. His ability to trouble batters with flight, dip, and googlies has made him a match-winner for India on multiple occasions.
The 30-year-old has been instrumental in India’s spin attack, forming a lethal partnership with Yuzvendra Chahal, famously dubbed ‘KulCha’. Over the years, he has delivered memorable performances, including a historic hat-trick against Australia in ODIs and a five-wicket haul in Test cricket.
With this achievement, Kuldeep joins an elite group of Indian bowlers who have crossed the 300-wicket mark in international cricket, a list that includes legends like Anil Kumble, Harbhajan Singh, and Ravichandran Ashwin.
As Team India eyes further success in the Champions Trophy, Kuldeep’s form and confidence will be crucial in their quest for the title.
