So elegant was the shot that it left commentator Harsha Bhogle in awe and on air wondered what Gill had for breakfast in the morning. The camera showed even England captain Ben Stokes nodding his head in amazement and approval.

Both Gill and Anderson were also seen having a chat after the Indian batter hit him running down the track into the crowd. On being asked what the chat was about, Gill refused to divulge the details and said it should be kept private.

"I think it would be better for both of us to keep that chat in private," Gill told the official broadcasters after the end of the second day's play.

Gill, who scored his second hundred of the series, attributed his success to his father's vision and he will be proud of his achievement.

"This was my father's vision, he would be proud of my performance today. The ball wasn't doing much at (the start) and instinctively I wanted to put (Anderson) under pressure. I feel good every time I go out with the bat. I missed out on a big one but I'm feeling good, he said.

Centuries from skipper Rohit Sharma and Gill helped India entrench their control of the final Test against England with a 255-run lead.

The hosts finished day two on 473-8 with Kuldeep Yadav (27) and Jasprit Bumrah (19) batting at the picturesque Dharamsala stadium, in the lap of the snow-capped Himalayas.
