NEW DELHI: India captain Rohit Sharma was at his majestic best during the fifth and final Test against England in Dharamsala. Rohit not only notched up his 12th Test century against the Three Lions but also thwarted the England bowling attack, helping India extend their dominance in the five-match series where they already held a unassailable 3-1 lead.

Rohit guided Tom Hartley towards deep mid wicket for a single to reach the three-digit mark. This also saw the 36-year-old match the remarkable feat of Rahul Dravid, who also has 48 international centuries to his name.

Rohit's 12th Test century marked his 48th ton across all international formats (12 in Tests, 31 in ODIs, and 5 in T20Is), placing him on par with Dravid, who has 36 Test centuries and 12 in ODIs (total: 48) in his illustrious career.

Rohit also equalled the legendary Sunil Gavaskar's record for the most centuries by an Indian opener against England. Gavaskar played in 38 Tests against England and scored four centuries against them.

Rohit's Dharamsala century was his fourth in Tests against England.
