CHENNAI: It's been 24 years since former England skipper Allan Lamb last played for England, but the ongoing series against India will see him padding up again - in a different avatar. At the fourth India-England Test in Mumbai to be played from December 8 to 12, Lamb - who has traded his cricketing gear for a formal wear now - will be in attendance escorting a group of about 50 tourists.

"I am hoping that the series is still alive till that point of time," he chuckled, before adding, "The idea is to provide them with a feel of Test cricket. Both India and England are top-quality sides and they should witness a great game."

The

, founded in 1996 by the 62-year-old, has been specialising in organising corporate hospitality events, team building activities, incentive travel and reward trips among others. Apart from the Mumbai match, the group is also scheduled to visit other parts of the country such as Rajasthan.

"India has a rich and diverse culture which is very unique, and I want more and more people to be getting a taste of it. Over the years, more and more people from across the world have visited this country and have been enamored by its sights and sounds," he said.

Lamb always came across as a fighter who would not give an inch to the opposition. His 79 Test caps for England produced 4656 runs with 14 centuries, but the one place Lamb can't stop raving about - it is India.

"I first came here during the 1984-85 series and it was a great learning experience. It is a big challenge playing in India, and over the years the country has become a place I have enjoyed visiting," revealed Lamb. Among the many innings he has played in India, Lamb recalled the 67 he scored at the

in the third Test of the 1984-85 series.

"India scored over 400 and we had to fight it out against a good quality attack and I was happy to have made a contribution," said Lamb.
