NEW DELHI: In the second Test against Bangladesh on Friday, India's captain,
Rohit Sharma, won the toss and chose to bowl. The match is being held in India, where the hosts currently hold a 1-0 lead in the two-match series. India is playing with an unchanged lineup from the first Test.
Bangladesh made two changes to their side, with Khaled Ahmed and
Taijul Islam replacing
Taskin Ahmed and Nahid Rana.
The start of play was delayed due to a wet outfield.
In the initial stages, openers
Zakir Hasan and
Shadman Islam faced bounce and seam movement cautiously. Shadman Islam scored 24 runs, while Zakir Hasan struggled and was eventually out for zero. Deep, who came in as a second change, took Hasan's wicket by inducing an edge caught by
Yashasvi Jaiswal.

On the other hand, Shanto demonstrated confidence with two early boundaries, signaling his intent not to be daunted by the accomplished Indian bowlers. He managed to score another boundary off Siraj, although his shots were not entirely clean.
Shanto's reverse sweep against off-spinner
Ravichandran Ashwin was particularly noteworthy. As lunch commenced, a light drizzle led to the covers being brought back onto the field.
