KANPUR: India skipper Rohit Sharma won the toss and elected to bowl in the second Test against Bangladesh here on Friday. Hosts India, who lead the two-match series 1-0, have fielded an unchanged side.

This is the first time since 1964 and in 24 matches that any team has opted to bowl first after winning the toss in a Test in Kanpur. The first instance came against England.

This is also the first time since 2015 that an Indian captain chose to bowl first in a home Test after Virat Kohli had asked South Africa to bat first in Bengaluru.

Bangladesh have made a couple of changes with Khaled Ahmed and Taijul Islam replacing Taskin Ahmed and Nahid Rana.

The start of the match was delayed due to a wet outfield.

India had won the opening Test by 280 runs.
