The left-handed Jaiswal smashed 9 fours and 2 sixes during his 25-ball knock but the highlight of his innings came when he hit three fours followed by two successive sixes off five deliveries that decisively shifted the momentum in favour of India.

Having reached a half-century in a mere 23 balls, Jaiswal's scintillating run came to an end when Nathan Ellis dismissed him in the sixth over. He also had the highest score by an Indian batter in Powerplay in a T20I match.

Australia, who lost the first T20I days after being crowned champions of the ODI World Cup, made two changes in their playing XI.
