India vs Australia 4th Test Highlights: Usman Khawaja, Cameron Green take Australia to 255/4 at stumps on Day 1

Australia dominated the first hour of play on the opening day of the fourth and final Test in Ahmedabad, scoring 56 for no loss in 14 overs. After the drinks break, India bounced back with Ravichandran Ashwin providing the big breakthrough by removing Travis Head (32) in the 16th over. Mohammed Shami then came back into the attack and dismissed Marnus Labuschagne (3) in his first over of the second spell. India squeezed the runs in the last 9 overs before the lunch break, taking one wicket for just three runs.

A successful over for India and Ravichandran Ashwin. The veteran spinner gave India a big breakthrough, removing well set Travis Head (32 off 44). Head miscued his shot towards mid-on and Ravindra Jadeja took a simple catch there.

Boundaries coming thick and fast for Australia at the moment. Usman Khawaja (18*) punished a short ball from Ravindra Jadeja with a four through backward square leg. The spinner conceded five runs in his first over.

Australia openers dominated the first hour of action in Ahmedabad. Travis Head (31*) and Usman Khawaja (14*) put on a fifty-run stand and put the visitors in the front seat at the moment.

Unlucky for pacer Umesh Yadav as he was denied an early wicket when India keeper KS Bharat dropped a regulation catch behind the stumps. Umesh forced an outside edge off Travis Head's bat and it flew straight to the keeper, who fluffed it. Head also hit a four in it too.

Before the toss, the two captains Rohit Sharma and Smith received the Test cap from their respective prime ministers, Narendra Modi and Anthony Albanese. BCCI president Roger Binny felicitated Australia's Prime minister Albanese, while the secretary Jay Shah felicitated PM Modi.
