India's national cricket team conducted their final practice session at the ICC Academy in Dubai on Friday, preparing for their Asia Cup title defense. The defending champions engaged in comprehensive training ahead of their opening match against UAE on September 10, followed by matches against Pakistan and Oman.The session marked the team's first collective practice since the England Test series, which concluded in a 2-2 draw last month. Key players including Suryakumar Yadav, Shubman Gill, Sanju Samson, Jitesh Sharma, Tilak Varma, and Abhishek Sharma participated in extended batting sessions.Several senior players had enjoyed a month-long break before the tournament. The management opted to arrive early in Dubai for acclimatization instead of holding a preparatory camp at the BCCI Centre of Excellence.Shubman Gill, fresh from leading the Test side in England, was a focal point during the fitness routines and skills work.Jasprit Bumrah's return to T20 internationals drew significant attention. His last T20I appearance was in the 2024 T20 World Cup final in Bridgetown, where he claimed 2/18 against South Africa, helping India secure a seven-run victory and earning the player-of-the-series award with 15 wickets.Bumrah has rejoined the squad after a 40-day break, following criticism for missing two Tests during the England series.The practice session saw various interactions among players and coaching staff.
