Sindhu seals the opening game 21-6. Anyone surprised? No? We thought so...
01:47 PM (IST)
PV Sindhu begins her CWG 2018 campaign against Andra Whiteside of Fiji. We say "begin" because remember, she had not participated in India's mixed team badminton event where they went on to win gold.
... and she starts well, leads Whiteside 8-2 in the earlygoings

Meanwhile, at the Oxenford Studios, Table 4...

And that's a winner from Srikanth. 21-13, 21-10 he wins it to storm into the pre-quarters
01:38 PM (IST)
Notice the top left corner. Not much seems to have changed in the second game. And that black shadow on the right-hand side of the image is Srikanth, who continues to baffle the opposition.
01:28 PM (IST)
Lubah would need all of those inputs from his coach, and perhaps a LOT MORE to upstage Kidambi Srikanth.
01:26 PM (IST)
BOOM! And fittingly, it was a smash that brings Srikanth an easy 21-13 win over Lubah in the first game.
So, after a sluggish start, Srikanth has roared through. One stage he was 7-9 down, and from there it was all upward for India's ace shuttler.
01:23 PM (IST)
Srikanth increases the gap to 15-10. It was almost as if Srikanth was trying to see what Lubah had got in store for him. Well, not anymore. The Indian in on fire.
01:20 PM (IST)
Ah, finally some good badminton. Trailing 2-7, Srikanth has unleashed his smashes to lead 11-9 against Lubah. Who doesn't like a good comeback, eh?
01:14 PM (IST)
After Saina's supreme show, it's upto another star shuttler - Kidambi Srikanth - to extend India's domination in Badminton as he takes on Mauritius' Aatish Lubah

Are we seeing a new an improved Saina under the tutelage of P Gopichand?
For those not aware, Saina Nehwal reunited with chief badminton coach Pullela Gopichand in September to revive her flickering career. Three years after the two had parted ways in 2014, Saina reunited with her coach and has looked a different player since. It was under Gopi that Saina became the first Indian shuttler to win a medal at the Olympics. Could this be a start of another upward climb for India's ace shuttler?
01:02 PM (IST)
Total Annihilation (Not the Video Game) this by Saina. What an extremely lopsided contest. Saina is off to the prequarters with a comprehensive 21-3, 21-1 win over South Africa's Elsie de Villiers
A total of just 4 poins bagged by the South African
12:53 PM (IST)
Saina does it without breaking a sweat. Takes the first game by an emphatic 21-3 margin in just nine minutes. WOW! This de Villiers certainly not as imposing as a certain AB... so far
12:49 PM (IST)
Well, India have always been wary everytime they have a South African with the sirname de Villiers up against them. But Saina is making it look rather easy against Elsie de Villiers. She has raced to a 12-1 lead over her in the women's single round of 32.
