RAIPUR: The Women's National Boxing Championship 2014-15 commenced on Saturday with as many as 217 boxers from 30 states and two boards competing for top honours.
The Nationals, organised by Monnet Steel, started just a month after the formation of Boxing India on September 11.
In the Light Fly (45-48kg) category, Sunita of Tripura defeated Madhu Samita of Odhisha, W Mauda Devi of Arunachal Pradesh beat Sikkim's Vabiya Gaurang, Sweety of Haryana got the better of Sharda of Chhattisgarh and Himachal Pradesh's Anjali Chauhan outplayed Pooja Chaudhary.

In the Fly (48-51kg) division, Shavinder Kaur of Punjab beat G Sujatha of Andhra Pradesh, while Pinki Rani of RSPB defeated Uttarakhand's Nirmala Kholi.
Meanwhile, both Anita Moriya and Pushpa prevailed over their respective opponents -- Rina Kumari and N Chokkarmeena -- following a technical knockout.
