NEW DELHI: If the London Olympics marked a high for Indian boxing with seven men and a woman qualifying for the Games, the road to Rio has represented the sport's lowest point. According to national coach Gurbax Singh Sandhu, administrative infighting is responsible for destroying the fabric of the sport in the country.
"When family members start fighting, the family becomes weak.

Before London Olympics, our boxers were winning medals in every meet. We were ranked No. 1 in Asia," Sandhu said.
"But after 2012, we started fighting and the federation got suspended. In London, seven participated and Mary Kom won a bronze. This time the girls have come back without a quota. We need to unite and build our house," he added.
