NEW DELHI:
Ritika clinched gold in the women’s 80+kg category, helping India secure an impressive overall fourth place in the Under-22 division of the Asian Boxing Championships on Monday. The Indian U-22 squad wrapped up their campaign with 13 medals, while the U-19 team finished with 14 medals — three gold, seven silver, and four bronze — to claim an overall second place in their category.
Ritika delivered India’s only gold of the day, showing composure under pressure to overcome Kazakhstan’s Assel Toktassyn in the 80+kg final. Balancing caution with bursts of aggression, she landed decisive punches to seal India’s fourth gold of the tournament.
