JAIPUR: Indian boxers can finally breathe easy. After months of uncertainty, the International Boxing Association (AIBA) has extended provisional recognition of Boxing India (BI).
A permanent recognition looks a formality now. The green light came three days after the BI elections.
In a letter to the BI and IOA on Monday, the world body has said that henceforth the Sandeep Jajodialed committee will function as the governing body for the sport in the country.

Satisfied with the reports submitted by its observers Kishen Narsi and Clidhona Guy, the AIBA indicated that a permanent status will be awarded to the Indian body after its general body meeting in Jeju Islands, South Korea, in November.
"The AIBA has decided to provisionally recognise the BI after declaring the elections valid. They have gone through all the reports submitted by the officials," Narsi, who is AIBA's representative in India, confirmed to TOI.
