Shuttlers Raghu, Ruth Misha emerge champions

MANGALURU: Top-seeds keep their appointment with the titles in Malnad state ranking badminton tournament for seniors and veterans that concluded on Sunday.
In the men's singles, Raghu M, representing WPBA and top seed defeated Sai Prateek of I-Sports to justify his top billing in the four-day event played at U Srinivas Mallya Indoor Stadium. Malnad Badminton Association organized the tournament.Raghu won in straight games 21-9 21-17.
On the distaff side, Ruth Misha V representing KBA however had to overcome a stiff opposition from second seed R N Savitha who took her to the distance before running out of steam. Ruth won 21-22 20-22 21-14.
In the men's doubles, top-seeded duo of Prakash Raj S and Vaibhav, representing SAI got the better of second-seeded pair of Kiran Kumar G and Vasantha Kumar Hr representing WPBA 21-16 21-19.
