NAGPUR: Experienced city coach
Kiran V Makode
has been nominated as the coach of junior Maharashtra badminton team which will be participating in the 44th Inter-State Inter-Zonal
Junior National Badminton Championships
scheduled to be held at Rajahmundry (Andhra Pradesh) from December 24 to 30.
Makode has been instrumental in shaping careers of many upcoming players of the region. He is a qualified BWF Level 1 coach and has attended the prestigious Badminton World Federation coaches' conference in Dubai during the Dubai World Series Finals few years ago.
The left-hander is also one of the top coaches of Olympic Gold Quest. He was also coach of the junior Indian team which participated in the Dutch and German Open early this year.
Earlier also Makode has participated in various international tournaments on several occasions. He represented India in the Senior World Badminton Championships held in Spain (2009), Turkey (2013), Sweden (2015), Kochi (India, 2017) and this year in Poland.
Recently in the All India Masters Badminton tournament held at the Dhanwate National College Hall in Nagpur, Kiran Makode performed very well and reached the final of the mixed doubles event in the 50 plus category. He missed the gold medal by a whisker.
