BENGALURU: Around 500 of Karnataka's top young shuttlers will be in action in the

The event, organized by

Prakash Padukone Sports Management

, will see competitions held in singles and doubles in the U-13, U-15, U-17 and U-19 categories for boys and girls. There will be a mixed doubles event in the U-19 category.

A total of 800 entries from across Karnataka have been received, the organizers said. Matches for girls will be held at the DYES courts and for boys at the KBA courts from June 5-7. From June 8, all matches will be held at the KBA courts.

Players will use the event as a platform to impress ahead of the all India junior ranking tournaments in Thiruvananthapuram and Bengaluru later this month. Around 800 matches will be played over six days with all the finals scheduled for June 10.

PPBA's Nikhil Shyam Sriram is the top seed among boys in the U-19 category. Deepthi Ramesh is the top-seeded girl in the same category.
