NAGPUR: Gaikwad-Patil International School-SJAN Media Badminton tournament, organized by the Sports Journalists' Association of Nagpur in association with Dhanwate National College (DNC) will be held here at the state-of-the-art Dhanwate National College Indoor Hall, Congress Nagar, from May 20 to 22.
Men's singles, women's singles and men's doubles events will be played during the annual three-day tournament.
This year, mixed doubles event has been introduced.
Attractive prizes will be given to the winners, runners-up and semi-finalists. The entry fee for singles is Rs 30, while Rs 50 for the doubles (per pair). Matches will be played with Yonex feather shuttles. More than hundred media persons of Nagpur are likely to take part in the tourney. Yonex will sponsor the T-shirts for all the winners and runners-up.

Ashish Jain triumphed in men's singles, while Suhas Nayse of The Times of India (TOI) finished runners-up. In the men's doubles, Ashish Jain-Raviraj Ambadwar had claimed the title by beating Times of India pair of Suhas Nayse and Fakruddin Bora. In the women's singles, TOI's Shruti Wanare had reigned supreme.
The last date of entry is May 18 (Thursday) and the draws will be declared on May 19. For entries, the interested players can contact sports desk of respective newspapers or convener of the tournament Sarang Kunte (9881728586).
Chairman of Gaikwad-Patil Group, Mohan Gaikwad is happy to be associated with the SJAN for the Media badminton tournament. "We always support SJAN whenever they conduct badminton tournaments. Our commitment with SJAN will be there in future too," said Mohan Gaikwad.
