MUMBAI: Jatin Paranjpe, who, along with Gagan Khoda, was reinstated by the Board of Control for

Cricket

in India (BCCI) as a national selector last week, quit as Mumbai selector on Saturday.

The former Mumbai player was sidelined as a national selector in January last year after the Lodha reforms mandated only former Test players to be a part of the selection committee.

Paranjpe played four one-day internationals for India. He quit the Mumbai panel as the Lodha reforms stipulate that a national selector cannot be a part of the selection panel at the state level.

The Mumbai senior selection committee is headed by former India all-rounder Ajit Agarkar and includes ex-India left-arm spinner Nilesh Kulkarni and Sunil More.

It's learnt that the Committee of Administrators (CoA) running the

Mumbai Cricket Association

(MCA) will now ask the Cricket Improvement Committee (CIC) to appoint a new selector to replace Paranjpe.
