India went to Hangzhou with a 653 member strong contingent for the ongoing 19th edition of the Asian Games in China, their biggest contingent ever, with an ambitious goal of making it the best ever Games for the country. They achieved their primary goal on Wednesday, when they breached the 70-medal mark and finished Day 11 of the competition with a staggering total tally of 81 medals. With it, they shattered the previous best medal haul of 70, achieved in the last edition in Jakarta in 2018.

Out on a medal hunting spree at the Asian Games in Hangzhou, India produced a historic feat on Wednesday, registering their best-ever outing at the continental event as the athletes took the overall medal count to a staggering 81 so far -- the highest ever. With a total of 12 medals in multiple disciplines, led by athletics events on Day 11, India surpassed their previous best total of 70 medals of Jakarta and Palembang Games in 2018.

The Indian men's bridge team managed to outplay China with a score of 2-1, securing their spot in the finals of the bridge competition at the Asian Games in Hangzhou. This achievement guarantees India at least a silver medal in the competition.

Indian javelin throwers Neeraj Chopra and Kishore Jena produced a sensational gold-silver finish while the men's 4x400m relay team also claimed the top prize as the track and field athletes continued the medal rush for India on Day 11 of the Hangzhou Asian Games. Along with the twin golds, India claimed a total of 7 medals in the athletics competition at the continental event on Wednesday.

India's golden boy Neeraj Chopra successfully defended his Asian Games gold in javelin throw with a season's best throw of 88.88m in his fourth attempt but the Chinese officials appeared to have thwarted his chances and targeted the Indian athletes once again.

India emerged victorious over South Korea with a final score of 5-3 in a grueling semifinal match at the Asian Games in Hangzhou on Wednesday. Despite India's earlier dominant performances in the pool stages, they faced a formidable challenge from the Korean team, even after taking a commanding 3-0 lead in the first quarter.

India's Saurav Ghosal on Wednesday displayed a commanding performance as he outplayed Hong Kong's Henry Leung to enter the squash men's singles final at the Hangzhou Asian Games. The victory keeps Ghosal on track for his second gold medal at the continental event.

Wrestler Sunil Kumar achieved a remarkable feat on Wednesday, clinching India's first Greco-Roman wrestling medal in 13 years at the Hangzhou Asian Games. Sunil secured the bronze medal in the 87kg category.

Kidambi Srikanth faced an early exit but the men's doubles pair of Satwiksairaj Rankireddy and Chirag Shetty entered the quarters in the badminton competition at the Asian Games in Hangzhou on Wednesday. Meanwhile, two-time Olympic medallist PV Sindhu and world championships bronze medallist HS Prannoy had smoother journeys into the quarterfinals, both securing their places with straight-game victories in the women's and men's singles events, respectively.
