NEW DELHI: Indian shooters Sarabjot Singh and Divya TS showcased their exceptional skills but narrowly missed out on the gold medal in the 10m air pistol mixed team event at the Asian Games.
In a closely contested final, the Indian pair was defeated by the Chinese duo of Zhang Bowen and Jiang Ranxin, with the final score ending 16-14 in favour of the Chinese shooters during the shoot-off for gold.
Asian Games Day 7With this achievement, India's tally in shooting at the continental Games has reached an impressive 19 medals, including 6 gold, 8 silver, and 5 bronze medals.
During the qualification round, Sarabjot delivered a solid performance by scoring 291 points, while Divya contributed 286 points.
Their combined score of 577 outperformed the Chinese team, who scored 576, securing India's spot ahead of China in the qualification round.
However, the thrilling shoot-off for the gold medal saw a dramatic turn of events as the Chinese pair managed to overtake the Indian duo, securing victory after trailing them for a significant portion of the finals. Despite their outstanding performance, Sarabjot Singh and Divya TS had to settle for the silver medal in this fiercely competitive event.
