NEW DELHI: The Indian archery compound women's team, comprising Jyothi Surekha Vennam, Aditi Gopichand, and Parneet Kaur, achieved a remarkable feat by securing a gold medal at the ongoing Asian Games in Hangzhou. The trio's outstanding performance culminated in a closely contested victory against Chinese Taipei's Yi-Hsuan Chen, I-Jou Huang, and Lu-Yun Wang, with a final score of 230-229.
The thrilling match had a competitive start, with Chinese Taipei taking the first set with a score of 56-54.

However, the Indian archers displayed remarkable resilience and control as they dominated the rest of the match, eventually clinching India's second gold in archery at the Asian Games.

The victory was celebrated by the Sports Authority of India (SAI), which congratulated the "GOLDEN GIRLS" – Aditi, Jyothi, and Parneet – for their remarkable achievement. India's archery contingent continued to shine bright at the Asian Games, further enhancing the country's medal tally.

In the quarterfinals of the compound women's team event, the Indian archery team, led by Jyothi Surekha, secured a convincing win against Hong Kong, with a score of 231-220. Despite Hong Kong's strong efforts, India's archers displayed excellent form and accuracy to advance to the next round.

, Syahara Khoerunisa, and Sri Ranti with a score of 233-219. India's archers demonstrated their supremacy from the outset, scoring 60 points in the first set.
This success in archery adds to India's impressive medal tally at the 19th Asian Games, where the country currently stands in fourth place. India has secured a total of 82 medals, including 19 gold, 31 silver, and 32 bronze medals, reaffirming its position as a formidable force in the Asian sporting arena.
