PUNE:
Aditya Verma, whose litigation in the Supreme Court has forced a change in BCCI constitution, has said that working committee members made a mistake by allowing N Srinivasan to chair the Board meeting on Feb. 8.
Speaking to the media on Friday, Verma said: "I have started legal proceedings against Srinivasan and all working committee members for contempt of Superme Court's order.
I hope my matter will be heard urgently. The BCCI AGM on March 2 cannot be chaired by Srinivasan unless SC gives him the explicit permission to do so."
Verma claimed that the Board members thrice showed disrespect for court orders during the time the legal battle has been on, letting Srinivasan represent BCCI in ICC and ACC and attend the working committee meetings despite him having "stepped aside".
Verma claimed the SC probe was not over yet as Justice Lodha committee has to submit its report and decide on the quantum of punishment to Rajasthan Royals co-owner Raj Kundra and CSK official Gurunath Meiyappan.
The Bihar Cricket Association president said that interim president Shivlal Yadav should have chaired the working committee meeting and he should chair the AGM.
"If he was unclear about his role, he should have sought Supreme Court's direction on the matter like Sunil Gavaskar did (as interim IPL chairman). Instead, members are towing Srinivasan's line."
