Theists and All Others

Atheists, those who do not believe in god(s) or in divinity, fate, destiny, have no one to blame but themselves when things go awry. They have to take full responsibility for their thoughts, actions and their consequences. Theists, on the other hand, when things do not go as planned, they say, It is all destiny/Nothing is in our hands/It is the will of God/Man proposes, God disposes...and so on. The danger here is absolving oneself of all responsibility and throwing up one's hands in a gesture that indicates nothing is in our hands.There is a third category, the agnostics. They neither believe nor disbelieve. They are like the cat on the wall, jumping neither this side nor that, caught in a state of uncertainty, not sure if they should take full responsibility or not.There is another, fourth category, those who are indifferent to the existence or non-existence of God. And they do not care whether one needs to believe or not in divine will. These are carefree people, who take life in their stride, and who neither blame others nor themselves nor an unseen God for whatever does not work out. It makes no difference to them. For them, tomorrow is another day.Theists have the opportunity to unburden themselves of any guilt by giving it all up to God and then carry on with the business of life. Whether this is to be described as escapism, one is not sure, for belief and faith do help one tide over turbulent times.
