Intolerance has gripped India: Survey
An app-based survey on topics of national importance is ringing alarm bells. Nearly 55% of the respondents polled said an atmosphere of intolerance has gripped India.In the Inshorts-Ipsos Pulse of the Nation survey conducted last week, nearly 50% of the respondents said they feel gagged and have no freedom of speech.About 1.5 lakh Indians participated in the poll conducted through Inshorts news app. "Nearly 60% of the audience came from Tier-I cities and the rest from Tier-II cities. They were in the age group of 18-35. While 75% of the respondents were men, the rest were women," said Parijat Chakraborty, executive director, Ipsos Public Affairs.The current affairs poll saw 54% of respondents say that the GST had been implemented successfully. More internet users opined that BJP will win the Gujarat and Himachal Pradesh polls. On the subject of 'Padmavati', 47% of participants said that the public outcry over the film could have been avoided had director Sanjay Leela Bhansali kept the Rajasthani royal family involved, while 31% disagreed.
