INSAT-3DS, one of the costliest satellites built by ISRO, reveals Chief S Somanath

Speaking about the launch of the Indian Space Research Organisation's INSAT-3DS meteorological satellite onboarding a geosynchronous launch vehicle (F14, ISRO chief S Somanath shared details about the mission on February 17. Talking about the INSAT-3DS, the ISRO chief said that it’s very precious and one of the costliest satellites built by ISRO.While speaking to ANI, ISRO Chief S Somanath said, " This vehicle had a configuration that is a four-meter diameter payload fairing at a higher payload capacity. So it is important for the next mission of the NISAR. So we are preparing the rocket to gain confidence for the next mission. So it was such an important mission to give confidence to the entire team of NISAR from NASA in India so that we can confidently go with that satellite because that satellite is a very precious satellite and one of the very costliest satellites we have built
