Kiren Rijiju Hits Out At Indian National Congress After No-Confidence Motion Against Om Birla Fails

Union Parliamentary Affairs Minister Kiren Rijiju criticised the Indian National Congress after its no-confidence motion against Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla was defeated by voice vote in the House. Rijiju said the Congress initiated the motion but did not participate in the voting, questioning the party’s seriousness and commitment to its own proposal. He termed the move irresponsible and said the opposition must reflect on its conduct in Parliament. Rijiju also remarked that leaders, including Rahul Gandhi, should treat parliamentary proceedings with seriousness. The remarks come amid sharp exchanges between the government and opposition during the ongoing session of Parliament.
