100+ Killed As Sudan Civil War Turns Deadly For Charity Workers; RSF Siege Ravages Darfur

Sudan’s civil war between the army and the paramilitary Rapid Support Forces has created a humanitarian catastrophe in Darfur, where community charity kitchens have become lifelines amid famine. But the very volunteers feeding the hungry are now being targeted. More than 100 kitchen workers have reportedly been killed since the war erupted in April 2023. During the siege of el-Fasher, aid volunteers were abducted, beaten, ransomed and executed, according to survivors and aid trackers. As starvation spreads, Sudan’s war is increasingly becoming a war on those trying to keep others alive.
