Shubhanshu Shukla to Axiom 4 mission: Indian Air Force Group Captain Shubhanshu Shukla successfully launched aboard the Axiom‑4 mission to the International Space Station from Launch Complex 39A at NASA’s Kennedy Space Center in Florida. The Falcon 9 rocket carrying the SpaceX Dragon capsule lifted off at 12:01 PM IST (2:31 AM EDT) on June 25, 2025. Originally planned for June 22, the launch was rescheduled, with the new window targeted for 2:31 am EDT (12 pm IST). Axiom-4 marks another step in private spaceflight and India’s growing presence in global space missions, with Shukla becoming among the few Indians to participate in a commercial orbital flight.

Before embarking to create history as the first Indian astronaut to visit the ISS, Group Captain Shubhanshu Shukla shared on Instagram to express his special heartfelt gratitude towards his wife. In his post, he thanked everyone involved in the mission for the unwavering support and extended blessings to all his supporters back home.


Through an Instagram post astronaut Shubhanshu Shukla gave special recognition to his wife @Kamna, describing her as a "wonderful partner" without whom the mission and the significance of his journey would not have been possible. He noted that her presence made everything meaningful, underscoring the critical role she has played in his life and career. Alongside his words, he shared a touching photograph showing them saying goodbye through opposite sides of a glass wall, symbolising both physical separation and emotional connection.

Astronaut Shubanshu Shukla and wife Kamna share a strong partnership dating back to their early childhood days in Lucknow. As reported, the couple first met in primary school and have been close friends since Class 3. Kamna fondly recalls knowing Shubhanshu formerly called Gunjan by classmates as the shy boy in their class who has now blossomed into an inspiring figure for many.

Their early childhood friendship grew to the committed partnership and has evolved over the time with their six-year old son forming a strong support system for his demanding career and extraordinary mission.
