IN-SPACe partners with 2 Gujarat educational institutions to build strong pipeline of talent in space sector
NEW DELHI: Space regulator and promoter Indian National Space Promotion and Authorization Centre (IN-SPACe), under the Department of Space, has signed two Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs) with two educational institutions in Gujarat to build a future-ready talent ecosystem for India's rapidly expanding space sector.
The MoUs with Kaushalya - The Skill University (KSU), Ahmedabad, and the New Age Makers Institute of Technology (NAMTECH), Gandhinagar, aim to support the growth of India's space ecosystem through focused promotional initiatives and skill development programmes. By strengthening curriculum design and expanding academic outreach, the collaboration seeks to improve workforce readiness across students, academia and non-governmental entities (NGEs), while building a strong pipeline of talent for the evolving space sector.
Under the MoUs, IN-SPACe will work closely with both institutions to identify key areas of cooperation, recommend and support the introduction of relevant academic courses, and connect students and institutions with emerging players in the space ecosystem.
These MoUs will be valid for a period of three years, during which both parties will jointly design and implement programmes that bridge the gap between academic learning and industry requirements.
Pawan Goenka, chairman of IN-SPACe, said, “India's space sector is at an inflection point, with increasing participation from private players and academia. These partnerships are an important step towards building a strong, industry-aligned talent pipeline that can support innovation, scale, and global competitiveness in the space ecosystem.”
Talking about this development Lochan Sehra, IAS, secretary, labour, skill development and employment department Govt of Gujarat, said, “As India's space sector expands, talent readiness will be a critical differentiator. Building the right skills at scale is essential. Focused skill development will play a decisive role in strengthening the ecosystem and enabling sustained innovation.”
These collaborations are a shared vision to strengthen workforce readiness through targeted promotional initiatives and specialised training programmes. The partnerships will enable the co-development of curriculum in space science and technology, facilitate internships and immersion opportunities, and promote hands-on learning through workshops, hackathons, and industry-led engagements.
