Decor
The ambience is that of quintessential modern fine dining, spacious, well-lit and pleasant. We especially endorse the cool Mediterranean blue of the upholstery on chairs and table linen, as well as the wooden wall on an entire side, with artifacts in different niches.
Food
The exhaustive menu is representative of global tastes, so you have Continental, Oriental, and as the very experienced executive chef Mohan admits, “as a concession to local guests, a good choice of Andhra, besides Indian dishes.” For eg, on the a la carte in soups, there is Hungarian goulash, Seafood Neptune, Agnes Sorel, as well as Kashmiri Shorba and Makkai Dhania Shorba, besides Tom Yum and Jade Chicken soup etc.
1x1 polls
For starters, the listing includes Tupelo Chicken Tenders, Zodiac Prawns, Malgudi Masala Fish Fingers, besides Andhra faves like Mirchi Bhajji, Punugulu, Mutton Fry and Korameenu Fry etc.
There is a sizable tandoor section, with murgh tikka, ajwaini fish tikka, paneer hari mirch tikka etc. In main courses, Goan fish curry shares space with Chicken Chettinad, chapala pulusu, gongura mamsam, etc, besides Oriental classics like stir fried chicken in hot garlic sauce, stir fried vegetables in hunan sauce, etc. There is also a pasta of the day option, with a choice of sauces (tomato, basil, pesto, four cheese, sea food, chicken, carbonara, meat sauces).
Choosing the lunch buffet option, however, we started on some Cajun Fried Mozzarella Sticks, chilly fish, fried chicken nuggets and crispy veg. While the starters made for some chat-pata conversation crunchers, we found the soup, Potage St Germaine, wholesome, but a tad bland for our Indian palate!
In main courses, the Goan Chicken Vindalho was made just right, with the plump potatoes adding perfect value to the spicy red chicken gravy. The peas pulao was perfect, and so was the Grilled Fish in Caper Butter Sauce, which I teamed with vegetable hakka noodles, fresh and hot, and not dry.
The desserts section, was however clearly the highlight. There was, besides assorted cut fruit platters and ice cream, Apple Strudel, Blue Berry Cheese Cake, Denmark Pudding, Strawberry Gateau (Western desserts), Orange Rasgulla, lancha and hot jalebis. (Indian desserts) The Orange Rasgulla was delish, in a luscious, light and not-too-sweet way.
