When is Kamada Ekadashi 2026? Check date, parana time and significance
Ekadashi is the most significant day when devotees of Lord Vishnu observe strict fast and offer prayers to him with devotion. The day is devotes to Lord Vishnu and devotees get involved in various religious and spiritual activities to appease Shir Hari and seek his blessings. Ekadashi falls twice a month during shukla paksha and krishna paksha. This month, Kamada Ekadashi is going to be observed on 11th day of Shukla Paksha in the month of Chaitra. According to the Gregorian calendar, Kamada Ekadashi fast will be observed on March 29, 2026.
Ekadashi holds a great religious and spiritual significance in Hindu religion. The day is purely devoted to worship Lord Vishnu. On this auspicious day, devotees offer their sincere prayers to Shri Hari and seek his blessings. Ekadashi is considered an extremely sacred day to perform various puja rituals associated with Lord Vishnu. Kamada Ekadashi means wish fulfilling and this Ekadashi is known for fulfilling the desired wishes of the devotees. People who observe Ekadashi fast strictly on this auspicious day get relieved from all types of sins they might have done in the past birth.
1. Wake up early in the morning and take a holy bath. They should clean the house especially puja room.
2. Take a wooden plank and place an idol of Lord Vishnu and worship him by lighting a diya with desi ghee in front of him.
3. Offer him yellow flower garland, chant various mantras associated with Lord Vishnu to invoke the idol and offer dry fruits and seasonal fruits along with tulsi patra.
4. Recite Ekadashi vrat katha and perform Lord Vishnu aarti with devotion.
5. The fast will be broken on the next day, Dwadashi tithi.
