Varalaxmi Vratham 2024: Varalaxmi Vrat is one of the most auspicious day which is dedicated to worship Goddess Laxmi, the Goddess of wealth and prosperity. Devotees observe fast to honour Maa Vara Laxmi. This day is also celebrated as Varalakshmi Nombu. Varalaxmi Vrat will be observed on Ekadashi Tithi (Friday) of Shukla Paksha in Sawan Month. This year, Varalakshami Vrat is being observed on August 16, 2024.

Varalakshami Vratam 2024: Significance
Varalakshami Vratam holds a great religious significance. This day is observed to honour Maa Laxmi and mostly married women observe this fast for the well being and longevity of their husbands, and other family members. Worshipping Ahsta Lakshami on this auspicious has its great importance in Hindu religion and it is also believed that women who observe fast on this sacred day, get the benefit of worshipping Ashtalakshami, who represents the eight power - Wealth, Love Peace, Fame, Strength and Contentment.

Varalakshami Vratam 2024: Puja Rituals

1. Wake up early in the morning and take a holy bath before starting Puja.
2. Clean the house and fo shuddhi of puja room by sprinkling Gangajal.
3. Set up an altar and place an idol of Maa Lakshami.
4. Adorn the idol of Maa Lakshami with new clothes, jewellery, put kumkum or sindoor, offer garland of red colour flowers.
5. Offer Akshat or unbroken rice and spread some on the plank to place a kalash filled with water.
6. Offer shringar items to Goddess Lakshami.
7 Offer fruits, home made sweets and then light a diya with desi cow ghee and light incense sticks.
8. Chant various Vedic mantras to invoke the idol of Maa Laxmi.
9. Recite Lakshami Stotram and perform aarti - "Om Jai Lakshami Mata"
10. One must avoid eating anything on this day and they must keep fast till mid night.
11. They can eat some sattvik food recommended for the fast or fruits.
