Sharad Purnima 2023: Sharad Purnima holds a great religious and spiritual significance among Hindus. This day is dedicated to worship Lord Satyanarayan. People offer prayers to Lord Vishnu and Moon. They observe fast and spend their day in offering prayers. Sharad Purnima is observed in the month of Ashwin and it is also known as Ashwin Purnima. Sharad Purnima is also popularly known as Kojagari or Kojagara Purnima. This year, Sharad Purnima is going to be celebrated on October 28, 2023.

Sharad Purnima 2023: Do's
1. People observe fast with full devotion and dedication.
2. Offer prayers to Lord Vishnu.
3. People should offer prayers to Lord Krishna and Goddess Radha as Sharad Purnima is dedicated to them.
4. Worshipping Lord Shiva is also considered auspicious due to Chandra Grahan and during this time Moon is afflicted.
5. Chanting Mantras can help the people and it will be rewarding.
6. Offering bhog to the Lord is also considered meritorious.
7. Prepare kheer and keep it under the Moon for before the Eclipse starts.
8. Maintain celibacy on this day.
9. Taking holy dip in Ganga river is considered highly auspicious.

Sharad Purnima 2023: Don'ts

1. Do not eat tamasik food (egg, onion, garlic and meat) on this auspicious day of Sharad Purnima.
2. Avoid consuming alcohol on this auspicious day.
3. Do not cut your hair and nails on this day.
4. Avoid arguments with your beloved or life partner on the day Ashwin Purnima.
5. As there is Lunar Eclipse on the same day so one must avoid performing any auspicious activities.
6. Getting involved in gambling is considered inauspicious.
7. Insulting you mother on this day bring inauspiciousness in life.
8. Do not take bath during Sutak Time as there is a Lunar Eclipse on Sharad Purnima day.
