Kalashtami July 2024: Kalashtami holds a great religious and spiritual significance among Hindus. Kalashtami is dedicated to worship Lord Kaal Bhairav. On this auspicious day, devotees observe fast and offer prayers to Kaal Bhairav. This day falls on Ashtami Tithi of Krishna Paksha in the month of Sawan. This month Kalashtami is being observed on July 28, 2024.

Kalashatmi July 2024: Significance

Kalashtami is one of the most sacred day which is observed to honour Lord Kaal Bhairav. On this day, people offer their sincere prayers to Kaal Bhairav. Kalashtami is also known as Krishna Ashtami as it falls on Ashtami Tithi of Krishna Paksha. This day holds a great religious significance among Hindus. Lord Kaal Bhairav is the Lord of time and the fierce manifestation of Lord Shiva. Kalashtami, which falls in the month of Shravan, has its immense significance.

Lord Kaal Bhairav is also known as the protector and destroyer of evil spirits and evil energies. One can win over their enemies by worshipping Bhairav Baba. He mounts on Dog. He is the remover of all five bad elements such as Kaam (Lust) Krodh (Anger) Lobh (Greed) Moh (Attachment) and Ahankaar (Ego). Observing Kala Ashtami is believed to bestow devotees with courage, protection, and the ability to overcome all obstacles of life. There are eight 8 Bhairavas -Asitanga Bhairava, Ruru Bhairava, Chanda Bhairava, Krotha Bhairava, Unmatha Bhairava, Kapaala Bhairava, Bheeshana Bhairava and Samhara Bhairava.

Kalashatmi July 2024: Puja Rituals

1. Wake up early in the morning and take a holy bath before starting puja rituals.
2. They must clean the house and puja room.
3. Take a wooden plank and place an idol or picture of Kaal Bhairav. If you do not have picture of Kaal Bhairav then you can worship Lord Shiva.
4. Offer flowers and light a diya with mustard oil.
5. Chant various mantras to invoke the idol.
6. Recite Kaal Bhairav Ashtakam and invoke the idol.
7. Visit Kaal Bhairav Temple and light a diya with mustard oil and offer special bhog prasad which is Meetha Rott.
