Kalashtami December 2023: Significance

For Hindu devotees who worship Lord Bhairav, Kalashtami has a great significance. On this day, people worship Lord Kaal Bhairav, the fierce incarnation of Lord Shiva. Tuesdays and Sundays are considered auspicious because Kalashtami is a day on which Lord Kaal Bhairav is worshipped. On this day, devotees offer milk and alcohol. On this day, a lot of devotees visit the temple.

Kaal Bhairav is also referred to as the God of Time. He is the one who drives out all bad energies, negative elements, and bad habits. Additionally, worshippers can find relief from black magic and evil spirits. When they pray to Lord Kaal Bhairav, they must be utterly devoted, and those who have faith in him never experience sadness.

Kalashtami December 2023: Puja Rituals

1. Devotees wake up early in the morning and take a holy bath.
2. They clean their house especially puja room.
3. Take an idol of Lord Kaal Bhairav, light a diya with mustard oil and offer a garland.

5. People visit the temple and they light a diya with mustard oil and seek blessings of Kaal Bhirav.
6. Meetha Rott is offered as bhog. Special prasad is prepared for Kaal Bhairav.
7. Devotees break their fast in the evening after sunset.
8. Eating any tamsikk food item on this day is considered inauspicious.
