Ekadanta Sankashti Chaturthi 2024: Chaturthi Tithi has a great religious importance among Hindus. This day is deidcated to worship Lord Ganesha. On this auspicious day, people offer prayers to Lord Ganesha and observe fast. There are total two Chaturthi Tithi falls in a month during Krishna Paksha and Shukla Paksha. Chaturthi which falls in Shukla Paksha is known as Vinayak Chaturthi and Chaturthi that occurs during Krishna Paksha known as Sankasthi Chaturthi. This time, Ekdanta Sankashti Chaturthi is being observed in the month of Jyestha i.e., on May 26, 2024.

Ekadanta Sankasthi Chaturthi 2024: Significance

Sankasthi Chaturthi has a great religious and spiritual significance in Hindu religion. This day is purely dedicated to honour Ganesh Ji, who is worshipped as Pratham Pujya. He is one of the most loving God and the son of Lord Shiva and Goddess Parvati. According to Hindu Scriptures, no auspicious work can be done without worshipping Ganesh Ji first.

It is believed that Lord Ganesha listens to his devotees very soon and people do not need to do a lot to please him, they just need to have pure intentions and follow the rituals, which they are advised to or they should. They need stay away from all types of bad habits such as drinking alcohol, eating non vegetarian food and maintain celibacy during the fast.

Lord Ganesha is the God of auspiciousness and good fortune and he provides everything to his devotees which they desire or wish. The one who worship him with full devotion and dedication, he bless them with good health, wealth, good fortune, well being, happiness and prosperity.

Ekdanta Sankasthi Chaturthi 2024: Puja Rituals
1. Wake up early in the morning and take a bath before starting puja rituals.
2. Clean the home and puja room.
3. Take a wooden plank and place an idol of Lord Ganesha.
4. Put haldi tilak, adorn him with flowers or garland, durva grass and offer Laddoo.
5. Light a diya and offer fruits especially banana and meetha paan then put kalash filled with water.
6. Recite Ekdanta Sankasthi Chaturthi Katha or Bindayak Ji ki Katha.
7. Chant Ganesha Mantra 108 times to seek blessings of the Lord.
8. Chant Ganesha Aarti.
9. Worship Lord Ganesha in the evening also and chant aarti.
10. Offer bhog prasad to Ganesh Ji and then after offering Arghya to Moon God.
11. Break your fast and have sattvik food without onion and garlic.
